2002 AD — Arta, Greece
Roughly two months before her death, in the late summer of 2002, the ascetic Lambrini told those around her that she had been shown a coming catastrophe of water: «Θα δεις μεγάλα κύματα ίσα με ένα διώροφο σπίτι να καταστρέφουν πόλεις και χωριά» — “You will see great waves, as high as a two-storey house, destroying cities and villages, and few will be left alive.” She named no country and gave no date, saying only that it would come and that it would be vast. She died on 17 October 2002, and the saying was recorded by those who heard it and published in the Athonite collection 'Ascetics in the World' in 2008.
Historical Fulfilment
Fulfilled — the Indian Ocean tsunami of 26 December 2004. A magnitude 9.1 undersea earthquake off Sumatra sent waves exceeding nine metres across the Indian Ocean, killing approximately 228,000 people in a dozen countries and displacing some 1.7 million. Spoken roughly two years before the event and about two months before her own death.
